Many high school students don’t know about the exciting careers in construction. So TRICO recently hosted the “Work Experience” class from Burlington-Edison High School. The class visited our Skagit Valley Family YMCA project. The class visits local businesses giving students insight into different types of work opportunities available in Skagit County post high school.
In attendance were Cesar Arrellano, Miranda Browning, Hasmin Olivera and Bailey Oben. They were accompanied by Jessica Tingley (Teacher) and Alan Heyntsen (Advisor). The TRICO Team included Savannah Phillips (Project Engineer), Mark Miller (Superintendent), Jason Solie (Senior Project Manager) and Zach Dalseg (Assistant Project Engineer) and not pictured Brad Phillips (Principal / Project Operations) and Kyle Nilson (Civil Project Manager).
The students were given an overview of the project, and then donned PPE (safety hat, glasses and vests) to walk out onto the site for a photo. Heyntsen said “They thought the tour was pretty neat. We were all impressed by the size of the blue print drawings book!”
