On March 6th, TRICO had the privilege of attending the Northwest Career & Technical Academy (NCTA) Appreciation Dinner and Silent Auction, a remarkable gathering organized by the talented Money & Business and Culinary students. These students led an impressive fundraising event, sharing inspiring stories that highlighted the profound impact of NCTA’s mission to help students Thrive by 25.
During the event, TRICO was honored with the NCTA Director’s Award, recognizing our ongoing commitment to student success.
John VanValkenburg, Shop & Equipment Manager, and Margaret Simpson, Human Resources Manager, have been instrumental in developing TRICO’s high school internship program providing hands-on opportunities for students to explore careers in the trades. Kaalen Blanton, Project Engineer, has also provided valuable guidance helping ensure students gain insight from experienced professionals.
Through our partnership with NCTA, TRICO has mentored three Core Plus Construction student interns—and we’re thrilled to be hiring our fourth intern this spring! TRICO has deepened its support for the Core Plus Construction program by providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and contributing to other key initiatives that enhance student learning experiences.
While we are deeply grateful for this recognition, our deepest appreciation goes to the incredible leaders driving NCTA’s programs. A heartfelt thank you to Jerry Grisham, Lynette Brower, Greg Sherman, Misty Rydberg, and Daniel Castillo for your unwavering commitment to students in our community. We are honored to be part of the meaningful work you do every day!
